What Once Was Old Vintage
First and foremost, our name, What Once Was Old was influenced by the Bible verse, 2 Corinthians 5:17: “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” Our faith is a large part of who we are. We have been blessed with this business and give God the glory.
We are Kari and John Baker, the owners of What Once Was Old Vintage. In the early days of the business, we both worked full-time jobs and just wanted a little extra money for vacations. We started off buying vintage furniture to redo and sell. As time passed, our projects were selling so I decided it was time to take a leap of faith and venture into running the business full-time.
Along with painted furniture makeovers, we added a booth selling vintage furniture and other items inside of an antique store. We started taking part in vintage market shows and then we added the Fusion Mineral Paint line in 2018. Not only does the custom job schedule stay booked with makeovers and builds but now we educate DIY’ers on how to paint their own furnishings with a good, quality paint product.
The next step for us, and always the dream for our business, was to open our own shop. So we bring y’all What Once Was Old Vintage. Our store is a small shop located in our home, New Braunfels, Texas. The shop offers home decor, both vintage + new. We specialize in repurposed, upcylcled vintage items and furniture. The shop is also a Makery that sells Fusion Mineral Paint and DIY workshops.
We would love to help you add some beauty and personality to your home.
